Rob Capar, RHP RRP
President
Rob started maison d’etre in 1995 and has remained steadfast in his belief that everyone deserves great design no matter the size of the project. He is adamant that maison’s design and contractor teams bring to every project the skills, design expertise and integrity that have become hallmarks of maison d’etre’s work.
Rob is a Registered Housing Professional (RHP) and Registered Renovation Professional (RRP) through the Canadian Homebuilders Association – BC.
Rob served as President of the CHBA-BC for 2013/2014 and is currently Chair of the Renovation Council BC.
Patty Capar
Office Manager
After many years spent working in various fields of law – then being a full-time mom to her three kids – Patty jumped at the chance to return to the work force at her brother’s company, maison d’etre, where she also puts her secondary education in Technical Writing and Editing to work. When she’s not in the office, she can be found puttering in her garden with her dog.
Stephen Lunney
Designer
Stephen’s our senior designer and has been with maison d’etre since 2007 creating thoughtful and inspiring designs for residential, multifamily, and commercial renovation projects. He believes that truly understanding client needs and wants and melding these with their objectives and goals are the fundamental steps to successful and creative design solutions. Stephen graduated from Interdisciplinary design studies program and then the Interior Design program from Kwantlen University College in Richmond, BC, Canada.
Beata Czerwinska
Design Assistant
Coming from a European background, Beata brings her international work experience to the maison team. She studied Business Management in Galway, Ireland and graduated from the Academy of Arts in Lodz, Poland. After working in fashion/graphic design she joined maison as a design assistant using her skills and insight to integrate new trends into our projects. Beata is also heading up maison’s social media presence.
Bradley Soper
Project Coordinator
Brad graduated from UFV with a Business Degree and has worked in construction in the lower mainland for over 10 years, plus a short stint in Australia. He specialized in exteriors but is now happily transitioning to the renovation world. Like several others in the office, he is an avid year-round, outdoor enthusiast.
Jaspal Riat
Project Coordinator
Jaspal is an experienced builder who has lived and worked in Tanzania and now Canada. He studied construction and housing management whilst living in the UK and made the move to Vancouver in 2019. He takes pride in providing excellent service with his meticulous and detail-oriented nature. Having worked in his family construction company for over 10 years abroad, Jaspal is excited to bring his knowledge and diverse experience to maison. When he’s not working, he spends his time cycling and exploring the city.
Leonard Norris
Site Warranty Supervisor
Working for maison d’etre now for over 21 years, and with a great eye for detail, Leonard’s the go-to guy for warranty repairs, service and small project know-how. Lately he’s been honing his tiling skills and is happy to take on tiling jobs for our clients.
Corbyn Collins
Site Supervisor
Corbyn graduated from the BCIT Carpentry Program and has been working with maison d’etre since 2015. He’s an experienced carpenter skilled in renovation, general construction, and woodworking. He’s one of the Site Supervisors on our projects and is excited to have recently completed his own laneway home.
Nicolas Couture
Site Supervisor
Nicolas is passionate about renovating homes so that they become homes our clients love! Having worked on commercial and residential projects, he welcomes the challenge of learning new skills and practices in renovation. Nick enjoys music and group sports as well as volunteering to generate funds for the Arts Community.
Bill Steinke
Site Supervisor
Bill has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years in Smithers, Quesnel, northwest B.C. and Vancouver. He’s been with maison d’etre since 2002 and is very proud of leading the team during construction for both the clients and maison d’etre.
Nick Thrift
Carpenter Assistant
Nick joined maison d’etre in 2017 and came to us with a background in renovations and roofing. In his spare time, he’s either enjoying the great outdoors or building projects for friends and family. His latest project was completely re-building a tent trailer so his family can take camping trips around the province!
Connor Smith
Labourer
Connor has 15 years experience primarily in siding/exteriors and framing and is looking forward to expanding his renovation skills.
