Project Description
vision and challenges
- 100-year-old warehouse converted to condos had style that need to be reimagined
- abundance of red finishes competed – brick was lost against red fir floors, mahogany cabinets
- homeowners wanted serene, peaceful haven with calming colours and finishes
design solutions
- cut back entry wall to improve flow/view when entering condo
- re-designed condo from two bedroom plus den to one bedroom, two offices
- eliminated one hall closet to enlarge master walk-in
- refinished fir floors with grey stain softening redness, accentuating brick
- concealed speakers in ceiling; TV. Fireplace float on brick wall with wiring run from above
- created ambience and mood with colour therapy fireplace lighting and LED backsplash
- defined spaces with recessed lighting
- built-in recycling centre reduces clutter; one drawer dishwasher allows for extra storage below; long hallway doubles as gallery space with art and lighting
