- required full upgrade, improvements to three stairwells
design solutions
- re-located hot water tank & laundry to main level; added storage & utility room, discreet cat house under stairs
- reconfigured existing bathroom & master closet to create 3-piece ensuite; new master closet now within room; 4-doors, wall-to-wall larger than original walk-in
- designed curbless ensuite shower/bench seat/strip drain under shower door for subtle slope; grab bars in showers
- increased living room floor space by removing overbearing stone fireplace; improved focus, furniture layout
- manufactured open-riser floating box treads to match hardwood floors; handrails on each side of stairs for aging-in-place
- installed hand-made entry/laundry accent/hand-painted backsplash tiles from England; 6 different profiles for ensuite walls/floors
- expanded kitchen storage/accessibility
- installed heated floors in bathrooms/ensuite shower/entry/laundry
