project notes

  • This renovation focused on creating a comfortable, accessible retirement condo tailored to the client’s health needs and long-term mobility. Design challenges—including a 12-month delay due to strata restrictions—led to creative solutions like a custom oak-veneer slat ceiling that conceals a magnetic track-lighting system while accommodating fixed sprinkler placement.
  • Accessibility upgrades included widened doorways, durable LVT flooring, and a redesigned ensuite featuring a bidet toilet, heated jet tub, discreet grab bars, and low-spectrum night lighting. A mini-split HVAC system provides efficient climate control throughout the unit, with a dedicated head installed in what was originally the office—now repurposed as a wine room.
  • The kitchen, adapted around structural constraints, features three functional zones, a bold blue mosaic backsplash, quartz countertops with soft sparkle, and a pot filler—blending utility with comfort in a clean, modern layout.
