vision and challenges
- retired clients rented then bought condo when it was unexpectedly put on the market
- wanted all new – entire unit gutted
- design focused on creating home with space for family visits; improved sightlines; quality finishing/detailing
- building substantially out-of-level up to 3” from corner to corner
design solutions
- cut back entry wall to improve flow/view when entering condo
- relocated door to face closets as bathroom door opened into the living space
- moved dining room/bedroom creating space for wine fridge/cabinetry; enlargement of bedroom closet
- removed framing over fireplace to expose window
- removed kitchen pony wall opening space/sightlines to living room
- raised kitchen drop ceiling four inches
- enlarged master bedroom entry by removing one closet; new built in drawers/closet added within room
- added door to master bath; created walk-in shower with bench; large storage area
- improved traffic flow and storage in kitchen; added cabinetry in den with beverage fridge; new built-ins and wine fridge in dining room
