vision and challenges
- create sophisticated yet casual entertaining space for drinks, appies, spectacular view – before heading out for dinner
design solutions
- designed rooms with monochromatic theme for art gallery ambience; all cabinetry painted same colour as walls/ceiling; balanced by wood floor, wood accents
- specifically designed without dining table
- removed walls to create spacious kitchen/greatroom; previous closed “U” layout now flow-through galley
- retained section of kitchen walls and re-purposed for hood and tile feature, future art location
- improved kitchen functionality with pull-out, drawers, shelving
- re-purposed storage room as pantry with matching cabinetry, built-in wine fridge, countertop for serving; storage, built-in file cabinet
- changed layout so TV/fireplace now the focus from kitchen
- installed power window blinds for ease of use;
- designed lighting as down-lighting to avoid glare from glass and eliminate mirror effect at night
